New Delhi: New and dangerous variant Omicron cases of corona are witnessing a steep rise across the country including Delhi-NCR. According to the latest data, 63 new cases of Omicron have been registered in the national capital, Delhi during the last 24 hours, followed by 142 patients suffering from the new variant in Delhi. On the other hand, Delhi has also surpassed Maharashtra in the new cases of Omicron variants.

It may be recalled that night curfew is going to come into force from Monday night till further orders amid increasing cases of new corona Omicron variants in Delhi. Night curfew will be imposed every day in Delhi from 11 pm to 5 am next morning during which only those concerned with necessary work will be allowed to ply on the roads. The number of patients active in Delhi has increased from 934 to 1103. When the first case of Omicron was registered in Delhi on December 5, there were 370 active cases on that day. This has increased the active patients almost three times in three weeks.

At present, 230 patients are admitted to hospitals, which is 20.85% of the total active patients. The rest of the patients are in home isolation. So, there is no significant pressure of patients in the hospitals at present, but if the infection of corona continues to increase, the pressure of patients in the hospitals is likely to increase.
