Tamil Nadu State Health Minister Ma Subramanian said that, 45 persons in the State (Tamil Nadu) have tested positive for the Omicron strain of COVID-19. 129 samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology for examination, and 16 patients are being treated, according to the Minister. The Health Minister stated during a press conference that all of these patients are asymptomatic and have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ashok Nagar COVID-19 containment zone was also inspected by Tamil Nadu Health Minister and Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan. The Minister also urged individuals to acquire their COVID-19 vaccinations.
