India's Bhavana Jat, Raveena and Munita Prajapati have created history by winning bronze medals at the World Athletics Walk Team Championships. At the championships held in Muscat, the Indian team also helped the country win its first bronze medal in the women's 20 km category. China has won the gold medal and Greece the silver medal.

Raveena clocked an hour, 40 minutes and 22 seconds and finished 14th. Bhavana, who played the Tokyo Olympics, finished 21st with timing of 1:43:08 while Munita has finished 26th. After which the medals were decided by adding the performance of all the contestants of one country.

This is the first medal of the Indian women's team in the 61-year history of the championships. Earlier, the men's team has also won a bronze medal in 2012. In the men's category, India's Amit Khatri was leading till the last kilometre but got the fourth red card which has also disqualified him from the 10 km category of the Under-20 men. He could not have won the gold if he had reached the finish line earlier as he got a 60-minute penalty after the third red card. He would have been in the top ten if he did not get the fourth red card. Wang Hongren of China won the gold medal, Italy's Diego Ji won the silver and China's Jeng Yu also won the bronze medal.
