Srinagar: The neighbouring country, Pakistan is continuously violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). In violation of the ceasefire today, the troops from Pakistan opened heavy firing at forward posts (LoC) near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, in which an officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) was martyred.

This is the second incident of a soldier being martyred by Pakistan's firing within the last five days. Officials said the firing was carried out without any provocation from across the border in Tarkundi area of Mendhar sector. Officials said that the Indian Army also gave a befitting reply to the firing. Earlier, on November 27, two soldiers were found dead in Pakistani firing in Sundarbani sector of Rajouri district.

In Sunderbani sector, the names of the soldiers who martyred were Naik Prem Bahadur Khatri and Rifle Man Sukhbir Singh. Martyr Sukhbir Singh was a native of Tarn Taran, Punjab. Shaheed Prem Bahadur Khatri was a resident of Maharajganj in UP. After this, the Indian Army has increased its vigil on the border and a fierce response is being given to every nefarious act of the Pakistani Army.
