New Delhi: The threat of coronavirus is not completely over yet, which is why the government is constantly emphasizing on vaccination. However, so far only 20 per cent of the eligible people in the country have taken a booster dose of the corona vaccine. The least of these is the northeastern states of Meghalaya followed by the states of Jharkhand, Nagaland, Punjab and Haryana.

Let us tell that the population of 18-59 years in India is about 77 crores. According to government data, only 12 per cent of these people have taken a booster dose. At the same time, the population of more than 60 years is about 16.80 crores, out of which 35 per cent of people have got a booster dose of the corona vaccine. Sources have informed that after the start of 'Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav', since July 15, a total of 15.66 crore people have been given the third ie booster dose of the vaccine and 10.39 crore doses are being given. While 64,89,99,721 people between the age group of 18-59 were eligible for the booster dose, till July 14, only 8 per cent of these people had taken the booster dose.

According to government data, Meghalaya has the lowest number of booster doses in the country. Here only 8 per cent of the eligible people above 18 years have got this dose. After this, this figure is 9-9 per cent in Jharkhand-Nagaland and 10-10 per cent in Punjab-Haryana. In major states, the coverage is only one-third. The Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is at the forefront with 78 per cent followed by Ladakh with 59 per cent. In Delhi, this coverage is 21 per cent.
