New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh rushed to Tihar Jail to meet former Finance Minister and Congress veteran P. Chidambaram, who is in judicial custody in the INX Media case. Sonia and Manmohan discussed several issues with Chidambaram. Apart from them, P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram also reached Tihar jail on Monday morning.

At the same time, the bail petition of P. Chidambaram was heard today in the Delhi High Court. In the INX case, P. Chidambaram has filed this bail petition. In response to a CBI report in the INX Media case, former Union Minister P. Chidambaram said that "Indrani Mukherjee's statement was not credible. Commenting on Mukherjee, the government witness in the case, in his reply, Chidambaram said, Mukherjee and her husband are accused in the murder case which is being investigated by the CBI, hence their statements cannot be credible."

A re-joinder has been filed in Delhi High Court on behalf of P. Chidambaram's lawyers in INX Media case. In which it has been said that there is no loss of public money in this case. Apart from this, it is also not a case of fleeing abroad with bank fraud and money. The judicial custody of former Union Minister P. Chidambaram was extended by the special court of Delhi till 3 October. Chidambaram's 14-day custody ended on 19 September, after which the court extended his 14-day custody.
