ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and exchanged views on current regional and global issues, including the "blatant violation of Pakistan's airspace by India's 'accidental' missile firing on March 9," as per reports.

Over the phone, Qureshi briefed Guterres on the so-called 'accidental' missile launch, which he claimed demonstrated India's disrespect for aviation safety as well as regional peace and security. Pakistan has continued to act responsibly and with prudence, according to the Foreign Minister.

Qureshi said the incident was consistent with New Delhi's "irresponsible conduct" and needed to be handled by the international community, including the UN Security Council, and reaffirmed Islamabad's call for a joint review into the incident, the report reads.

Qureshi spoke on Pakistan's perspective on the ongoing war in Ukraine, its negative economic impact on developing countries, and Islamabad's efforts to find a settlement through dialogue and diplomacy.

Guterres, for his part, informed the Foreign Minister of the UN's recent attempts to combat the world's increasing inflation in the aftermath of the Ukraine crisis.
