Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha and the President of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), dedicated the state's historic mandate in the recently finished three-tier panchayat election to the people of the state and party members.

During a virtual conference with party MPs, MLAs, District Presidents, and Observers, Patnaik hailed the people of Odisha and party workers for the party's huge achievement. He also spoke about the party's approach for the upcoming municipal elections.

"I thank all of Odisha's citizens for this incredible and unparalleled victory in panchayat elections." The people of Odisha have once again demonstrated their faith in our leadership, and these blessings and love will motivate us to work even harder," Patnaik said.

"Now is the time for the Urban Election, and we must all be vigilant during this time against false rumours and misinformation, such as that spread by the opposition during the panchayat elections, when they told lies and slandered the government, but the people of Odisha did not pay attention to them."

Patnaik said, Biju Janta Dal believes in positive politics, transformative government, and common man empowerment. "It's not just about power; in a democracy, true power comes from the people who support you and trust you. "We must take the government's policies/programs to the people and conduct good work for the state's development," he said.

"The opposition's lies and negative campaign must be countered by our positive and honest efforts. I am convinced that, as in the panchayat election, you would continue to work diligently in the urban poll," He added.

"We can regain the people's confidence and blessings, and now is the moment to demonstrate to the opposition that lies and deception will not work in Odisha, and that the people of Odisha will never accept bad politics", he concluded.
