New Delhi: New Zealand opening batsman Devon Conway, who scored 672 runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2023, has reacted to his team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's fan following. Conway, who returned home after the IPL ended, has said in a conversation with Kiwi media that MS Dhoni is worshiped in India, the support he gets is incredible. Devon Conway was third in the list of players who scored the most runs in IPL 2023.

Conway has said, 'Dhoni is very much liked in India, he is worshiped a lot there. The support that Dhoni got there is amazing and unbelievable, every match outside CSK felt like a home match because on every field, Dhoni's supporters were more than the home team. Conway further said that we have become accustomed to the world we live in, but it will be very difficult for Dhoni, because his popularity is so much that Dhoni will not be able to do anything after going out of the hotel. Conway said that every player in the team respects Dhoni. Talking about the team environment, he said that the culture of the team is very different because of him (Dhoni), Dhoni has a good relationship with the franchise owner.'

Devon Conway has further told that he got the responsibility of starting the innings for CSK only because of coach Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni. Dhoni trusted him and he is very happy with his performance. Conway scored 672 runs in 15 innings of 16 matches of IPL 2023 at an excellent average of 51.69, including 6 half-centuries. During this time his highest score was 92.
