Muzaffarpur: The supreme court petitioner sought an early hearing on a PIL in the case of death of children due to Chamki fever (encephalitis) in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The petitioner told the court that the matter was to be heard after 10 days, but the matter has not yet come up for hearing. Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, "We will list the petition soon.

It may be mentioned that a PIL has been filed by the apex court in Muzaffarpur in Bihar over the death of children due to fever. In the last hearing, the court had sought a response from the Bihar government and the central government. The petitioner accused the Bihar government of negligence on the issue of "Chamki fever" and sought a direction to the Centre to set up a medical board of experts and immediately take it to Muzaffarpur and other affected areas of Bihar.

In addition, the Centre and the Bihar government have been directed to provide 500 ICUs equipped with experts. To provide treatment to the affected people in remote areas. It has also sought direction to the Bihar government to issue orders keeping in view the special circumstances. In which private hospitals in the affected areas are asked to get free treatment.
