Oil companies have released new prices of petrol and diesel  today (Saturday), January 1, 2022. On the first day of the New Year, today means that there has been no change in the prices of vehicle fuel petrol (Petrol) and diesel (Diesel) at the national level on 1st January. Petrol and diesel prices are stable across the country. According to Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), indian petroleum marketing company, petrol prices were vaccinated at Rs 95.41 per litre on January 01 at an Indian Oil pump in the country's capital, Delhi.

Diesel prices are also stable at Rs 86.67 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices vary in the states due to VAT and freight rates on oil. Coming to the four major metros (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai), mumbai, the economic capital of the country, has the highest fuel price. Petrol in Mumbai is around Rs 110 while diesel is across Rs 94 a litre. In addition, petrol is being sold across Rs 100 per litre in several cities of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
