New Delhi: The country is facing corona and black fungus epidemics, while inflation is also adding to the woes of the people. Once again, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased. Petrol and diesel prices have gone up for the 13th time since May 4. With the price of petrol rising by 23 paise and diesel by 25 paise in Delhi, the price of one litre of petrol in the national capital has now gone up to Rs 93.44 and that of one litre of diesel by Rs 84.32 per litre. The reason for the price hike is attributed to the change in the crude oil market.

According to media reports, travel restrictions in Europe's taqriban countries are now coming to an end, while travel has increased in countries like the US. As a result, the demand for petroleum products has once again started increasing and the direct impact is also visible on the crude oil market. Crude oil prices rose nearly 2 per cent on Monday. At the same time, in India, state-owned oil companies today hiked the price of petrol and diesel drastically. While diesel prices have gone up by 25 paise per litre, petrol prices have gone up by 23 paise per litre.

This is the 13th increase in fuel prices since 4th May. Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum Oil Companies report the prices of petrol and diesel in all cities every morning. Today's price is Rs 99.70 per litre, diesel at Rs 91.57 per litre in Mumbai. In Chennai, petrol is Rs 95.06 per litre, diesel is Rs 89.11 per litre. Petrol in Kolkata is Rs 93.49 per litre, diesel at Rs 87.16 per litre.
