New Delhi: Petroleum companies today released new petrol and diesel prices. The state-owned oil companies have given a big relief to the general public who are suffering from petrol and diesel inflation. The price of petrol and diesel, which has reached historic highs, remained unchanged even on Monday, August 16. Today is the 30th consecutive day that oil companies have kept petrol and diesel prices stable. Earlier, petrol prices had gone up by 30 paise per litre on July 17. While the price of diesel remained stable even today.

The prices of petrol and diesel in the country are at a historic high. Petrol prices have crossed 100 in many states. Diesel is also being sold across Rs 100 per litre at many places. Petrol is being sold at Rs 101.84 per litre in Delhi today. While diesel is still priced at Rs 97.45 per litre. Petrol is being sold at Rs 107.84 and diesel at Rs 97.45 per litre in Mumbai. In Bengal, the petrol price is Rs 102.04 and diesel is Rs 93.02 per litre in Kolkata today. Petrol is fetching Rs 102.53 and diesel Rs 94.39 per litre in Chennai.

Tell us that the price of petrol has increased 9 times in the month of July. However, diesel has become costlier 5 times and cheaper once. Earlier, petrol and diesel prices had increased 16-16 times in the months of June and May also. It may be recalled that the prices of petrol and diesel have started rising since 4th May. Petrol has since become costlier by Rs 11.44 and diesel by Rs 09.14 per litre in Delhi.
