PM Modi in Chennai, says 'This is going to be India's decade'

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Kerala and Tamil Nadu today. He reached Chennai first during his journey. Here he handed over the indigenously developed new Arjun Tank Army. Along with this, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many projects here. A recently released PMO statement said, "These projects include the Chennai Metro project and the launch of a petrochemical complex in Kerala."

On this tour, the Prime Minister launched the first phase of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. After inaugurating all the projects, PM Modi is addressing the program at this time. In his address, he said- 'The world is looking at India with great enthusiasm and positivity. This is going to be the decade of India. The Government of India is committed to doing everything possible to support this pursuit of aspiration and inspiration.'

With this, he said, "I am proud to hand over the indigenously designed and manufactured Arjun Mark 1A. Tamil Nadu is already India's major automobile manufacturing hub. Now, I see Tamil Nadu evolving as a tank manufacturing hub in India. Pulwama attack took place on this day two years ago. We pay tribute to all those martyrs who were martyred in that attack. We are proud of our security forces. His bravery will continue to inspire generations." The program still continues.
