In a bid to propel India towards becoming the world's third-largest economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans on Monday to significantly hasten the pace of infrastructure project implementation over the next half-decade.

Addressing a gathering, Modi highlighted that he has already inaugurated and initiated projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore this year alone, expressing urgency in his efforts. He stressed that the momentum must not wane, indicating a shortfall in time for further project inaugurations.

The Prime Minister's remarks came as he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 114 National Highway projects, collectively valued at around Rs 1 lakh crore, spanning the nation. Notably, Modi inaugurated the Haryana section of the pivotal Dwarka Expressway among these projects.

Taking a swipe at the Congress party, Modi remarked that the opposition, along with its coalition, has been restless witnessing the rapid pace of development under his administration. He criticized the opposition for maintaining a negative outlook, suggesting it has become characteristic of them and their INDI Alliance.

Emphasizing his vision for expansive and swift progress, Modi reiterated his ambition to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. He asserted, "I cannot think small, nor do I dream small, nor do I make small resolutions. Whatever I want, I want it big! Whatever I want, I want it at a fast pace!"

Modi pointed out the significant leap India has made from being the 11th largest economy in 2014 to now ranking as the fifth largest. He expressed confidence that accelerated infrastructure development would propel India to secure the position of the world's third-largest economy.

The Prime Minister underscored the potential benefits of expressway projects for rural India, foreseeing a multitude of opportunities emerging from them.

In a statement aimed at dispelling notions of electoral opportunism, Modi assured that his government remains committed to development regardless of election cycles. Present at the event were Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
