New Delhi: India and Russia have held important talks on the latest situation in Afghanistan. PM Narendra Modi held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin for about 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, the two leaders discussed the latest situation in Afghanistan and cooperation between the two countries.
The previous day, PM Modi also discussed the Afghanistan issue with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. All these countries are currently monitoring the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan, as well as cooperation between all countries on the ongoing rescue operation from Kabul airport. It may be recalled that India is currently constantly adopting a wait-and-watch policy on Afghanistan. India's focus is now on evacuating its citizens from there. However, the Government of India has also convened a meeting on August 26 to discuss the Afghanistan issue with all political parties.
It's been a week since the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, and many countries in the world are constantly trying to evacuate their people. No country has yet spoken of recognizing the Taliban, although many countries have hinted at imposing sanctions.
