New Delhi: The Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 (CAB) has received approval from both houses of Parliament. Now it will be sent to President Ramnath Kovind. This bill will take the form of law after the President is signed. At the same time, the Bill is being opposed in the northeastern states, especially Assam. In many places, protesters have set arson and vandalism. After which curfew has been implemented in some places.

Several airlines have cancelled their services in view of the unrest in the state. Meanwhile, PM Modi has appealed to the people of Assam for peace. PM Modi has assured the people of Assam that their rights will not be taken away. PM Narendra Modi said, 'I want to assure my brothers and sisters of Assam that they do not have to be worried about the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019.

PM Modi said that I want to assure them that no one will take away his rights, unique identity and beautiful culture. It will continue to flourish and develop. The Central Government and I are fully committed to constitutionally protecting the political, linguistic, cultural and land rights of the Assamese people according to the spirit of Clause 6 of the Constitution.
