New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated the force personnel on the foundation day of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). In fact, he has tweeted, "Whenever the country needed him, he responded with indomitable courage and dedication. ITBP was established after the 1962 war with China and has about 90,000 soldiers.'' Congratulating the force personnel, he said, "The humanitarian work done by the force in times of disaster is commendable.'' You must all know that ITBP is one of the five branches of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). In fact, it monitors the northern borders and prevents border violations. It also monitors illegal immigration, cross-border smuggling, etc. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the versatile and eminent cartoonist RK Laxman on his 100th birth anniversary.
