When staying in the middle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flight during a foreign trip (technical halt), the hotel is not booked, but instead he rest in the airport lounge. Earlier, according to protocol, hotels were booked for the Prime Minister's stay during the technical halt.

According to media reports, PM Modi is setting strict standards for other dignitaries during his long trip abroad. Home minister Amit Shah himself gave this information during the discussion in the Lok Sabha. Explain that during the discussion on the Special Protection Group (SPG) Amendment Bill, Amit Shah said that till today PM Modi has not instructed to book a hotel for himself during a technical halt in any country. They stop at the airport, take a shower and leave after filling fuel in the plane.

In his statement, Shah said that the Prime Minister has reduced the staff going abroad with him by 20 per cent. Apart from this, separate vehicles were previously arranged for the Prime Minister's staff, but PM Modi has made changes in it. During long distance air travel, when the aircraft stops somewhere for refueling or for technical investigation, it is called the technical halt.
