New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch Jal Jeevan Mission's mobile app and national Jal Jeevan Kosh today. He will also interact online with Gram Panchayats and Water Committees. According to information received from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), water supply will be ensured and taps installed at homes, schools and Anganwadi centres in rural areas under the National Water Life Fund. Anyone, institution, company and NGO can donate to this fund as they wish.
PMÂ Modi will discuss the Jal Jeevan Mission and the benefits of it from Pani Samiti and Gram Jal and Swachhata Samiti at the virtual event organized to mark the launch of the National Water Life Fund. PM Modi himself tweeted that he will attend the Jal Shakti and Gram Vikas programme at 11 am on October 2.
The nationwide Gram Sabha on Jal Jeevan Mission will also be held during the day. Gram Sabhas will discuss the planning and management of gram water supply systems. In the meantime, PM Modi will interact virtually with Gram Panchayats and Water Committees to sensitize them about water and explain the benefits of the mission. It will also launch the Jal Jeevan Mission app and the National Water Life Fund.
