Ahemdabad: On the occasion of 66th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his day by visiting his mother, Heeraben Modi in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

PM Modi took to the twitter and expressed his feelings, "Mother's love and blessings are the basic essence of life". PM also thanked President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Chief Justice of India for their wishes. 

On Friday night, PM Modi was given a grand reception in Ahmedabad after he landed in Gujarat. Modi was welcomed by Governor OP Kohli, the entire Gujarat cabinet including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and hundreds of party workers at the airport.
