Rajamahendravaram: The police department has refused permission to Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan to address a public meeting at Balajipet in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Jana Sena had planned that Pawan Kalyan would address a public meeting after repairing the road at Balajipet in Rajamahendravaram. But he was not allowed by the police department. Therefore, the Jana Sena has decided to go ahead with the repair work of the road. Expressing concern over the pathetic condition of roads in the state, Pawan had planned to repair potholes on the roads.

The Jana Sena initially decided to repair Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Dovaleswaram in Rajamahendravaram. But, Irrigation Department officials have refused permission to Pawan Kalyan and his team to go to the barrage due to technical reasons. He said that if a large number of people gather at the barrage, it could harm it. This is only for the protection and maintenance of the Godavari river barrage and only farmers are allowed on the bridge.

Thereafter, JSP workers planned to start road repair work in Balajipet. But here too the police refused to allow them. The area cannot accommodate such a large number of people and there is not enough space for parking. Eastern Region DSP Ravi Kumar said that the epidemic has not subsided yet. He said that if they choose an alternative venue like an auditorium or function hall, they will definitely look into the feasibility and allow them.
