Ram temple is to be constructed in Ayodhya on a grand scale. Welcoming the formation of the temple construction trust, Shiv Sena has thanked PM Modi. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned its timing. He said that the trust could have been formed even after 8 February. Parliament session is to end on 11 February. It seems the BJP government has taken this decision in the concern of the Delhi elections.

Earlier on Wednesday, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant said that construction of the temple is a priority. Speaking to news agency IANS in Parliament, Sawant said, "We welcome the Prime Minister's decision. This was Bala Sahib Thackeray's dream. He always insisted that Ram temple should be constructed in Ayodhya. Even Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray kept saying 'first temple then government' during Lok Sabha elections. He went to Ayodhya twice and prayed for Ramlala. We welcome this and thank Prime Minister Modi."

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, 'I welcome the PM's announcement on behalf of the CM of Maharashtra. The decision to build the Ram temple was given by the Supreme Court and it is the responsibility of the government to honor its decision. We have welcomed the announcement and said that the temple should be constructed as soon as possible. The meeting of the newly formed trust should be held soon so that the construction work of the temple can begin at the earliest.'
