Cyrus Mistry who headed the multinational Shapoorji Pallonji Group and was a former Tata Sons chairman was killed in a road accident at Palghar in Maharashtra on Sunday, September 4. Cyrus was traveling from Ahmedabad to Maharashtra when his over-speeding car hit a highway road divider on River Surya near Charoti. Four persons were traveling in the car, two of whom died on the spot including Cyrus, and the other two were shifted to the hospital.

After his unfortunate demise, Various people started commenting their views on Road and safety rules. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that it is already mandatory to wear seatbelts in the rear seat, but people are not following it. He added that there will be a siren if people in the rear seat do not wear belts.

Now Actress Pooja Bhatt has taken to social media and indirectly attacked the government. She wrote, "All this talk of seatbelts & air bags. Important? Yes! But more so is fixing potholes & damaged roads. When will the usage of substandard material to build our roads, highways, and freeways be deemed criminal? Also maintaining those roads once built & inaugurated with pomp is key."

Rightly said. Strict action has to be taken against such contracts and officials who sanction such corrupt deals just to hefty their pockets. More emphasis has to be given to providing good public facilities."
