At the same time, former state president of Congress and Rajya Sabha member Pratap Bajwa, who has been raising finger from time to time on Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's decision and performance, has once again written a letter to him to get the dues of sugarcane farmers soon. This time he has also got the support of three-party MLAs.

For your information, let us tell you that Bajwa has been questioning the working of the captain for a long time. But till now they were doing this work alone but this time they have also got the support of Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Joginder Pal Bhoa and Balwinder Singh Ladi. All three are signed on the letter. In the letter, Bajwa has written that the CM cane should immediately release the outstanding money to the sugar mills. He has written that due to non-payment of sugarcane amount by the cooperative and private sugar mills of the state, the farmers are in trouble.

Let us tell you that for the year 2018-19 season, there is an outstanding of Rs 96.36 crores from the cooperative and private sugar mills. While the outstanding for the 2019-20 season is Rs 585.12 crore. Of these, 298.48 crore is owed to cooperative mills and Rs 383 crore to private mills. This is a violation of the rules because the mills are required to pay the cane price within 14 days.
