President Kovind congratulates Krishna Nagar for 'Historic performance' at Paralympics

President Ram Nath Kovind both congratulated Indian shuttler Krishna Nagar on her gold medal achievement at the ongoing Paralympic Games. This is India's sixth gold medal in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, which are currently ongoing.

Taking to Twitter Kovind wrote, "Historic performance by Krishan Nagar. Strong and determined, you proved your mettle by winning the gold medal in badminton at #Paralympics and keeping the tricolour high. Your excellence is commendable. Many Indians will be inspired by you. Congratulations and best wishes."

 

On Sunday, Nagar won the gold medal in the men's singles SH6 -final match at Yoyogi National Stadium, defeating Chu Man Kai 2-1. In a three-set battle on Court 1, the second-seed Indian beat Chu Man Kai 21-17, 16-21, 21-17 in 43 minutes.

This is India's sixth gold medal in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, which are now underway. The early exchanges of the match were very close, as predicted, as the shuttle kept changing on both players' racquets.
