NEW DELHI: Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has announced the scrapping of the provisions of article 370 granting special state status to Jammu and Kashmir. The move comes after both the Houses of Parliament passed a resolution in this regard. At the same time, this section is no longer effective in Jammu and Kashmir.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Law states, "The President, on the recommendation of Parliament, makes a declaration exercising the powers conferred by clause three of article 370 read with clause one of section 370 of the Constitution of India on the recommendation of Parliament that 6th August From 2019, all clauses of the said article 370, except the following, as per the following, shall not be in vogue, i.e., :- '370.

All provisions, as amended at the time of this Constitution, without any modifications or exceptions, article 152 or article 308 or any other paragraph of this Constitution or any other provision in the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir or any other law, document, decision, ordinance, order, bylaw, rules, regulations, regulations, Any convention or practice or a written treaty or agreement, as envisaged or otherwise, as envisaged or otherwise under article 363, shall apply to the State of Jammu and Kashmir, irrespective of the fact that the notification or any law-enforcement convention in the territory of India is in conflict with anything contrary to that. The Centre had passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill from both the Houses of the House on Tuesday and Wednesday.
