New Delhi: The festival of Onam is being celebrated on Monday in the country amidst Coronavirus epidemic. Many leaders including President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah have greeted the countrymen and the people of Kerala on the occasion of Onam. Onam, the festival of the festival celebrated on harvesting of crops, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in many other areas of the country including Kerala.

On this occasion, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted congratulating the people of Onam. The President wrote in a tweet that 'Congratulations to everyone on the holy festival of Onam. The festival of Onam is a symbol of our rich cultural heritage. Also, it is also an opportunity to show gratitude to nature on arrival of new crop. On this occasion, we help the needy people and follow all the guidelines for the prevention of covid-19.

PM Modi also tweeted, 'Greetings on Onam. This is a unique festival, which celebrates harmony. It is also an occasion to express gratitude to our hardworking farmers. May everyone be blessed with joy and best health.' Along with this, PM Modi has also posted a video on social media.
