New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has attacked the government for the death of a 5-year-old daughter of a poor family in Agra. Priyanka has posted on Facebook, in which it is written that "The death of a girl child in Agra district like this is a stigma on the government's forehead. The entire family of the girl is mourning. Priyanka has asked that the UP government should tell that such an incident does not recur, what steps are being taken for it? Sonali, a 5-year-old girl, died on Saturday in Nagla Vidhi Chand of Barauli Ahir block. On her death, mother Sheela Devi has said that she died of hunger. Due to hunger, she became weak. However, Tehsildar Prempal Singh, who came to her house carrying ration material, said that the girl died due to illness and not due to hunger".

Pappu, the 40-year-old father of the deceased girl, also has breathing problems. Mother Sheela Devi has said that Sonia had a high fever for 3 days. There was no ration in the house for a month. They also survived with the help of neighbours. There was no ration in the house for the last few days. The girl became very weak due to lack of food. She started getting a fever three days ago. It seemed that she was deficient in blood and she died of it.

On Monday, the leaders of the Congress Party met the victim's family and assured of help. On the other hand, the Child Commission has sought a report from the administration in this case. Mahfooz Safe Childhood Organization Coordination Naresh Paras has demanded an inquiry from the National and State Child Protection Commission.
