Good News: Only this many cases in Puducherry in last 24 hours

Puducherry: There has been no new death due to coronavirus infection in the union territory of Puducherry in the last 24 hours. Health department director S Mohan Kumar said on Thursday that the Union Territory registered 98 new cases in the last 24 hours till 10 am, taking the total corona cases to 1,20,725.

New cases have come to light after testing 5,126 samples in the Union Territory. The highest number of 98 cases were found in Puducherry (72), Karaikal (20), Mahe (5), and Yanam (1). According to the official, the death toll is still 1,792, as there have been no deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases here is 972, out of which 195 patients are admitted to the hospital, while 777 patients are in home isolation.

In the last 24 hours, 49 patients have recovered from corona infection. Now the number of recovering patients has increased to 1,17,961. The positivity rate in the Union Territory is 1.91 percent, while the death rate is 1.48 percent and the recovery rate is 97,71 percent. The director said the health department has so far tested 14.88 lakh samples, out of which 12.72 lakh have turned out to be negative.
