Bangalore: Karnataka Minister D Sudhakar has ignited controversy with his statement, asserting that the construction of the "Ram Mandir is a mere political stunt, like the Pulwama attack, to sway voters" for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to the media, Sudhakar conveyed his doubts about the government's motives behind highlighting the Lord Ram's temple project, suggesting it could be a strategic move to divert attention and polarize voters.
"These are all mere stunts. First, they showed Pulwama, and now they're displaying Lord Ram's photo. People aren't naive. We were deceived twice, and I trust we won't be deceived a third time," remarked the minister. Sudhakar also asserted that everyone, including himself and Raghuram, contributed, both financially and symbolically with the donation of bricks, for the construction of the Lord Ram temple. He emphasized the universal reverence for Lord Rama and discouraged making distinctions.
"We all contributed money for the construction of the Lord Ram temple. I made donations, Raghuram contributed, and we even donated bricks. Lord Rama is revered by all. We can't make distinctions there," emphasized the minister. Furthermore, Sudhakar alleged that such initiatives were attempts to influence voters under the guise of spirituality, drawing parallels with previous elections where the Pulwama attack was purportedly exploited to sway voters. "Last time, they used Pulwama to sway voters. People were influenced, believing they would safeguard the nation. But how many lives were lost last time?" questioned Sudhakar.
