Punjab government has given several discounts under 'Unlock 2' from July 1 to July 30. The opening hours of shops, restaurants and liquor contracts have been extended by an hour. A spokesman for the Punjab government said that all shopping malls and shops, including shops in main markets in both urban and rural areas, will now be allowed to open from 7 am to 8 pm. Liquor contracts, restaurants and hotels will be open from 8 am to 9 pm. At the main markets, market complexes and Rehdi Bazaar and other crowded places, the district authorities will be able to decide the time of opening of shops at their discretion.

Shops related to essential items will be allowed to remain open till 8 pm all day. On Sunday, shops (other than those working on essential items) and shopping malls will remain closed. There will be no restriction on the interstate and intra-state movement of persons and goods for cross border trade under agreements with neighbouring states. No separate clearance or e-permit will be required for such activities. The spokesman further said that schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutes will remain closed till 31 July. Training institutes of the central and state governments will be allowed to function from July 15, for which the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be issued by the central government.

Other activities including cinema hall, gyms, swimming pool, amusement park, theatre, bar, auditorium, assembly hall and similar places will remain in force. International air travel of passengers without a permit issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs will also be prohibited. Apart from this, the ban on social, political, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, religious work and other big celebrations will also be applicable. Places of worship, religious places will be open only between 5 am to 8 am. The maximum number of persons at the time of worship should not exceed 20. Permission for anchors and offerings will continue.
