Third-ranked PV Sindhu and fifth-ranked Kidambi Srikanth have made it to the semifinals of the Korea Open Super 500 badminton tournament. Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist, defeated Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand 21-10, 21-16 to secure her 17th win over her. Srikanth defeated former world number one Korean shuttler Song Wan Ho 21-12, 18-21, 21-12 in a three-game clash.
Sindhu will be seen taking on the second-ranked host nation's N C Young in the semi-finals, who has defeated Japan's Saina Kawakami 21-14, 21-7. Sindhu has won over Busanan in just 43 minutes. She had earlier defeated the Thai shuttler in the final of the Swiss Open.
