Following Sonam Kapoor, now her co-star Radhika Apte also shared her first period story in an interview to Mid-day. The actor stars in PadMan playing the role of a rural women who is against the idea of his husband making cheap sanitary napkins for women. The actor felt grateful for being brought up in a liberal environment at home and said she knew about periods even before having them.

"I remember the day my periods actually started; I sort of figured that they've started. So, I went to the bathroom in the middle of a class. I remember feeling very proud the day I got my periods." Radhika confided to mid-day.

However, Radhika had to face the orthodox traditions because the world wasn’t as liberal as her family. She reminisced, "Once I went to a friend’s house while I was menstruating, I remember her mother did not let me come into the kitchen and I was offended as I have never been told that."

Radhika has proved her mettle with the challenging roles she has played so far. The 32 year old actor has acted in short films Ahalya, directed by Sujoy Ghosh and That Day After Everyday, directed by Anurag Kashyap and a few feature films.
