Ahmedabad: Eleven convicts in the Bilkis Bano gang rape case have been released from jail by the Gujarat government. The opposition is constantly aggressive with the BJP government in the state. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the release of convicts in the Bilkis Bano case in Gujarat, saying the entire country is seeing the difference between his words and actions. He asked "What message is going to the women of the country by such decisions?''

Rahul Gandhi tweeted and wrote, "Those who raped a 5-month pregnant woman and killed her 3-year-old daughter were released during the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. What message are you giving? Prime Minister, the whole country is seeing the difference between your words and actions.'' Apart from Rahul Gandhi, his sister and Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have also questioned Prime Minister Modi.

Priyanka Gandhi has asked whether the release of criminals by the BJP government and welcome in front of the camera is not unfair to the victim. Priyanka tweeted and wrote, 'The release by the BJP government of the criminals convicted from all the courts for the crime of gang-rape and murder of a pregnant woman, welcome in front of the camera - is this not the culmination of injustice and insensitivity? Narendra Modi Ji, is respect for women only in speeches? Women are asking.'
