Nikki Pradhan, a player of the Indian women's hockey team, performed brilliantly at the Tokyo Olympics, and Salima Tete will become officers in the railways. There is a strategy to appoint both of them to the appropriate post in the South Eastern Railway Zone. On the other hand, CPRO Neeraj Kumar said on Wednesday that both the women hockey players will get gazetted employee status.

Both the hockey players are currently working in the Ranchi Railway Division of the zone, as per the railway plan, Salima Tete will be appointed as Assistant Commercial Manager Sports, who is currently working as a ticket collector in the Commerce Department. In fact, women's hockey player Nikki Pradhan will be appointed as Officer on Special Duty Sports. She is currently working as Chief Yard Master in The Train Operations Department, Ranchi.

It may be recalled that the Indian women's hockey team missed out on a medal, but both the players who had gone to the Olympics from the Railways had performed brilliantly. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has felicitated both the players of the state and also given a reward. The South-East Zone gives players an opportunity to perform brilliantly with jobs in Indian Railways from the beginning. Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also earlier served as ticket district collector in the Kharagpur railway division of South East Zone, now dozens of players are still working at several posts of ticket collectors, parcel clerks, and railway department at all stations in the zone including Tatanagar.
