New Delhi: The country may receive more rainfall than normal in September, with 24 percent less rainfall than normal in August. The India Meteorological Department has reported. The monsoon is now deficient at 9 percent and is expected to subside due to good rainfall in September. Before August, June also recorded 7 percent less rainfall. "The rainfall recorded a decline of 26 percent till August 28 in August," said Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director General, IMD.

This deficiency in the same rainfall has been recorded in North and Central India. In June, 10 percent more rainfall was recorded. He said IMD will issue forecasts for September shortly. The weather conditions have changed in most parts of North India including the national capital Delhi today (Tuesday). Delhi-NCR is receiving heavy rainfall. The rains have brought relief from the heat to the people but the speed of trains on the roads has slowed down, leading to long traffic jams. Meanwhile, the IMD had issued an orange alert of rain till 2.30 pm.

People arriving at the office have faced an unusual problem due to the jam.'' IMD in its forecast has predicted light to moderate rainfall by September 04. The rain continued in Mumbai. The rains have flooded the roads of Delhi and Mumbai.
