Mumbai: Loudspeaker politics has gained momentum in Maharashtra. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has asked mosques to switch off loudspeakers, giving an ultimatum till May 3. On the other hand, the leaders of Shiv Sena and NCP have also issued a statement. MNS chief Raj Thackeray was addressing a function. Due to this, he said, 'PM Narendra Modi should implement Uniform Civil Code in this country. A law should be brought to stop population growth.

The same Thackeray did not stop here. He further mentioned the loudspeakers installed on the mosques. The MNS chief said, 'The loudspeakers in mosques should be switched off by May 3, otherwise we will recite Hanuman Chalisa with loudspeakers. This is a social issue, not a religious one. I want to speak to the state government, we will not back down on this subject, do whatever you want to do. Thackeray further said, 'I am not against Namaz, you can offer Namaz at your home, but the government should take a decision to remove the loudspeakers of the mosque. I am just giving a warning.' He also urged PM Narendra Modi to raid mosques in Muslim areas of Mumbai and said that the people living there are pro-Pakistan.

Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut retaliated on Raj Thackeray's statement. Sanjay Raut said, Hindutva is in the blood of Shiv Sena, no one should teach us Hindutva. Sanjay Raut took a dig at Raj Thackeray. He said that the loudspeaker that is playing these days (Raj Thackeray) is the siren of the BJP. Everyone knows this. They are speaking the language of BJP these days because of the action of the Enforcement Directorate. Sanjay Raut further said, 'When the BJP could not cope with itself, it has forwarded the loudspeaker in the form of Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray's horn started after he was exempted from the action of the Enforcement Directorate.
