Bharatpur: A major road accident has taken place on the Jaipur-Agra National Highway in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan this morning. Here, a bus overturned uncontrollably near Jhatala. 1 passenger on the bus lost his life, and 18 were seriously injured in the accident. There was panic on the spot after the accident. People present nearby informed the Halina police station. Police who reached the spot after receiving information broke the glass of the bus with the help of locals and pulled out the injured passengers. The injured have been admitted to the local Halna CHC.
According to police, the bus that met with the accident was on its way from Gorakhpur to Ahmedabad. About 25 passengers were present on the bus. Most of the injured passengers were on their way to Jodhpur. They act as wages. District collector Himanshu Gupta also rushed to the spot and inquired about the accident. The district collector also directed SDM City to reach the district hospital and get proper treatment for the injured. 10 seriously injured passengers have been referred to RBM Hospital at district headquarters after first aid at Halina CHC.
Police officer Vijay Singh Chhokar said the incident took place around 8 am. The bus from Gorakhpur to Ahmedabad overturned uncontrollably here. After receiving the information, the bus was straightened with the help of a crane, and the injured were sent to the hospital. A passenger among the injured said the bus driver was talking on the phone. In the meantime, he suddenly applied the brakes. This caused the bus to overturn uncontrollably. According to passengers, the accident occurred due to the negligence of the bus driver. The injured are undergoing treatment at RBM hospital. Police are in the process of informing the families of the injured.
