Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court has decided today in the matter of collection of fees on behalf of private schools. The Rajasthan High Court has extended the moratorium on the order of a single bench to collect 70 per cent of tuition fees by private schools till 12 October. It is being told that a division bench of Judge Prakash Gupta and Judge Mahendra Kumar Goyal has given this order while hearing an appeal filed by the state government and others.

On Friday, video conferencing took place to hear the matter. Immediately after joining it, the bench deferred hearing of the case till 12 October without hearing the arguments of the advocate and continued the interim order. This means that under the order given, till October 12, no private school will be able to take fees from any student nor punitive action against the student for not paying the fees. On September 7, the single bench of the High Court, hearing the petition of the Progressive Schools Association and others, gave exemption to private school operators that they can recover 70 percent of tuition fees from parents. .

An appeal was filed in the bench on behalf of the state government and others against this order. In that appeal, it has been said that the single bench ordered to charge a 70 percent tuition fee without conducting any hearing. On the other hand, the single bench did not stop the state government's order to suspend the fees until the school does not open. Without conducting classes, it is wrong to charge fees and the order of the single bench should be changed.
