New Delhi: Union Defense Minister and veteran BJP leader Rajnath Singh will leave for Paris today on a three-day visit to accept the first Rafale fighter jet. Singh will accept this fighter aircraft on Dussehra and Indian Air Force Foundation Day. Officials said that Defense Minister Shastrapuja would take over after bagging the first Rafale fighter aircraft on the Bordeaux Mergenais suburb. After performing the puja he will fly in the plane. Rajnath Singh will perform arms worship on Tuesday on the occasion of Dussehra after receiving the first Rafale fighter jet in Paris. Officials said that Singh would accept the first Rafale aircraft on French Port Bordeaux on the day of the terror.
He told that after performing the puja, Singh will also experience his flight in Rafale. Singh has been worshiping arms for years. While home minister, he used to worship arms. Arms-weapons are worshiped in Shastra Puja. It is part of the Dussehra festival in various parts of the country. Tomorrow he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris before leaving for Bordeaux on Tuesday morning. Defense and security issues are likely to be discussed between the two.
The program of handing over Rafale to the Defense Minister is at the plant of aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation, about 590 km from Paris. The first of the 36 aircraft will be delivered to the Defense Minister on Tuesday, but the first batch of four aircraft will reach India in May next year. let us tell you that Rafael became a big issue in the last Lok Sabha elections.
