The beutiful and talented actress Rani Mukerji has given some memorable performances. While in the 90s, she won the hearts of the audience with playing the girl-next-door kind of roles, from the past few years, her choice of films have only gotten better.  In 2014, she gave a smashing performance as a cop in the film Mardaani. The film was based on human trafficking and is termed as one of her best films so far.

As per the reports,  the makers of Mardaani are planning to make a sequel with Rani as the lead in the film. The writer of the first film, Gopi Puthran will be helming the sequal . Talking about the film, Rani Mukerhi said, Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart. Right since its release, everyone has asked me time and again when I would be doing Mardaani 2 and I’m sure this announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to them all. She further informed that Gopi has written an extraordinary script that we all love and I can’t wait to start shooting this film soon."

Rani Mukerji will start shooting for the film next year and the film will hit the screens in the later half of 2019. Now fans are excited to see Rani Mukerji again as Senior Inspector, Crime Branch, Shivani Shivaji Roy.
