Reserve Bank's appeals to stop using single-use plastic

New Delhi: PM Modi  On 15 August announced a campaign against the use of single-use plastic across the country. However, the government has currently scrapped its plan to ban single-use plastics across the country. But the country's central bank is ready to deal with hazardous materials like single-use plastic. According to media reports, from October 2, there was talk of single-use plastic products being implemented across the country, but later there were reports that it would be implemented in certain cities.

RBI Governor Das said, "We have issued a circular prohibiting the use of single-use plastic internally". Explain that in the Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for not using single-use plastic to protect the environment. Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar had told that by 2022 the country will get rid of single-use plastic. The Prime Minister had said that the government would organize a public mega outreach program in the next three years to achieve this goal. Javadekar said that it was launched on the 150th birth anniversary of the Mahatma and by 2022 this target will be achieved.
