New Delhi: Corona vaccination program has started across the country from today. Meanwhile, resident doctors of Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML Hosptial) have written to the medical superintendent of the hospital demanding a vaccine of 'covishield' instead of 'covaxin'. The letter says that we are the existing members of RDA RML Hospital.

He has said that we have come to know that the corona vaccination campaign is being carried out by the hospital today. Covaxin vaccine manufactured by Bharat Biotech is being installed in our hospital instead of COVISHIELD made by Serum Institute of India (SII). The doctors wrote in the letter that we want to bring to your notice that the resident doctors are a little apprehensive about the lack of full testing in the case of COVAXIN and cannot participate in a large number of vaccinations. So, the purpose of vaccination will not be successful. We urge you to vaccinate with the COVISHIELD vaccine, which has completed all stages of trial before vaccination.

Corona vaccination is going on at 81 locations in Delhi today. Covishield is being vaccinated at 75 centers in Delhi while 'Covaxin' is being vaccinated at six places. These places have been divided into government and private hospitals. These include six central government hospitals, AIIMS, Safdarjung, RML, Kalawati Saran Bal Hospital, and two ESI hospitals.
