NEW DELHI: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has once again sparked a debate on the reservation. He said that there should be a dialogue in a good-faith atmosphere among those who are in favour of reservation and who are against it. Mohan Bhagwat said that he had talked about reservation earlier but it created a lot of uproar and the whole discussion deviated from the real issue.

He said, those who are for reservation should speak in view of the interests of those who are against it and similarly, those who oppose it should speak in the interest of those who support it. He said, the discussion on reservation gets heated every time when this approach needs to be reconciled among different sections of the society. Bhagwat was speaking at the closing session of the 'Knowledge Utsav', which was on competitive examinations.

Earlier, Bhagwat had advocated a review of the reservation policy, which had received strong backlash from several parties and caste groups. The Union chief said that the Sangh, BJP and party-led government segregated three entities and nobody can be held responsible for the actions of the other.

Talking about the perception of the RSS' influence on the Narendra Modi government, the RSS chief said, "Since the BJP and the Sangh workers in this government are there, they will listen to the RSS, but they don't have to agree with us. They may disagree. In fact, there has been a demand for a review on the reservation system from time to time. On the other hand, the reservation supporters see this demand as a conspiracy.
