New Delhi [India], Oct 23 (NT): The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday has agreed to hear the review petitions challenging its verdict allowing women of menstruating age between 10 to 50 inside Sabarimala Temple.

The Top court said that it will hear the matter on November 13 at 3 PM.

"All petitions will be heard on November 13 at 3 pm. It will be on the website soon," said the bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi.

The Supreme Court on Monday noted that it will decide on the listing of petitions with reference to the entry of women inside Sabarimala temple.

CJI Gogoi along with Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul on Monday asserted that the Supreme Court is aware that there are 19 review petitions against the Court's judgment in the case and will decide about when to hear the issue.

Worth mention here on September 28, a five-member constitutional bench headed by the then CJI Dipak Misra had lifted the age-old ban on the entry of women falling in the age group of 10 to 50 years in the shrine, citing the practice "irrational and arbitrary".

It is noted that earlier, women of menstruating age were not allowed from entering the Sabarimala Temple by its officials and group of priest, who argued that the holy place deity Lord Ayyappa is celibate.
