Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut commented on Friday that the common man is the "superman" of the country, responding to a statement made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Bhagwat had remarked about a man wanting to become Superman and even God, which has sparked political reactions, with Congress and its allies linking the comment to the BJP government at the centre.

Raut Questions Bhagwat's Comments
Raut acknowledged Bhagwat's respectability as the Sarsanghchalak of the RSS. He noted that since the Modi minority government took office in Delhi, Bhagwat has been making open statements. Raut challenged Bhagwat to clarify his remarks about Superman and a non-biological person, suggesting that the public is aware of whom Bhagwat might be referring to. Raut emphasized, "In this country, the common man is the superman and this common man has kept those who consider themselves God away from the majority."

Criticism of Government and Railway Management
Raut also criticized the government's handling of the recent derailment of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda region. He claimed that the government itself is derailed and noted that over 300 passengers have died since the new railway minister took charge. Raut questioned the government's focus on ambitious projects like bullet trains while neglecting essential maintenance, such as signal line repairs.

Seat-Sharing in Maha Vikas Aghadi
On the topic of seat-sharing within the Maha Vikas Aghadi, Raut stated that all three major parties are assessing their respective strengths. He explained that each party has the right to evaluate their influence in various constituencies before finalizing seat arrangements. Raut highlighted Shiv Sena's traditional stronghold in Mumbai, mentioning their success in Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Assembly or Lok Sabha seats. He added that Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party have significant influence in their respective regions, and seat sharing will be adjusted accordingly.
