Vicky Kaushal is all set to bring the story of one of the important characters of Mahabharata that is Ashwatthama . There were reports that Sara Ali Khan is playing the female lead in the film but as per information Sara Ali Khan was replaced from the project and Samantha Prabhu has been roped in reportedly.

According to information, Sara Ali Khan had to walk out from the film, after the script got revised. The makers were initially demanding a younger girl to be cast, and at that time Sara was on board. But with the alterations, and dates clashing, ‘it was no longer doable. Moreover, the script now requires an older actress to be cast in it’s current state. The source stated that “Hence, now the makers are looking at other options.” Samantha Prabhu’s name is in the news, however, nothing has been signed on the dotted lines so far”.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s name is confirmed for the movie. The makers feel that, that the story is the most important thing that matters today and not the stars. Source added, “Vicky has a stronghold and credibility with the audience, so there is no doubt of him being recast. In fact, pre-production for the film has already begun. Since the film is mounted on a huge scale, the makers are spending nearly 8-10 months on pre-production to ensure everything is in place and ready.”

The Immortal Ashwatthama will be directed by Aditya Dhar. The Immortal Ashwatthama is a retelling of mythology. Ashwatthama was mentioned in Mahabharata and it is perhaps the first time that a film is being made about him in Hindi cinema. A source speaking about the film said Aditya wants to introduce the Immortal Ashwatthama from Mahabharata in a superhero format, and believes that his story can cross national boundaries too. He is all excited and is finally and actually set to take the film on floors by next summer. It’s an extremely costly film, but Aditya has big ambitions.
