New Delhi: Former captain of Team India and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to the hospital after the health deteriorated in the new year.

Reportedly, Ganguly complained of dizziness after a workout session at the gymnasium in the morning. A source informs that he rushed to the Woodlands Hospital where findings of a "mild cardiac arrest" came up. He is scheduled to undergo further tests along with angioplasty. According to the information, the former captain of Team India had chest pain on Friday night, January 1, after which he was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure. His health is improving at the moment and doctors are monitoring his condition. 

The state chief minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted about development, wishing Sourav Ganguly a "speedy recovery".
