New Delhi: BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has got a big blow from the Supreme Court in the rape case. The court has turned down Hussain's plea challenging the Delhi High Court order. Shahnawaz Hussain was accused of rape in 2018. In this case, the trial court had ordered the registration of FIR. This order was later upheld by the Delhi High Court. The top court said during the hearing of the matter that let the matter be investigated properly, if you (Shahnawaz Hussain) are not wrong then you will be saved. This comment has been made by the bench of Justice S. Ravindra Bhat and Justice Dipankar Dutta.

This matter is of the year 2018. At that time in Delhi, the woman had moved the court against BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain in the alleged rape case. The woman had appealed in the lower court to register an FIR against Hussain. However, Shahnawaz Hussain denied the allegations leveled against him. The Magistrate Court, while giving its verdict in the matter, had ordered the registration of an FIR against him. Hussain had reached the sessions court regarding the matter where his plea was rejected.

Senior advocates Mukul Rohatgi and Siddharth Luthra argued for Shahnawaz Hussain. Rohatgi said during this time a complaint was made on the complaint from the woman. The police investigated the matter but found nothing. He also said that a series of sustained attacks were hurled against Hussain. In response, the Supreme Court bench said that we do not see any reason to interfere in the matter. Let the case go on, if you are innocent then you will be saved.
